The
Road Commission is governed by State law and includes a Board of three commissioners
who do not serve certain districts, but represent all people of the County
of Eaton. In 2008, the Road Commission
Board was expanded from a three member board to a five member board by the
Eaton County Board of Commissioners. Road Commissioners in Eaton County are
appointed to a six-year term of office.
The Board meets twice each month, on the second Tuesday
at 8:30 AM and on the fourth Tuesday at 6:00 PM, in the Road Commission office
at 1112 Reynolds Road, Charlotte, Michigan. All meetings of the Board are
open to the public. (Click

Occassionally, the Board will be required by law to hold special meetings known
as public hearings to get public comments regarding such issues as road construction,
special assessment districts or road abandonments. All special meetings are
advertised in a newspaper of general circulation at least two weeks prior to
the meeting. As a courtesy, individual notice is mailed to those residents
directly affected by the hearing whenever possible.
