Eaton County Road Commission Seeks an Assistant County Engineer

The Eaton County Road Commission is accepting resumes for the position of Assistant County Engineer. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and the ability to deal with people courteously and effectively. Desirable candidates should have four years of experience in construction, engineering, and maintenance operations,
preferably in public works and/or a road department, and two years of supervisory experience. Skill in the use of office equipment and technology, including Microsoft Suite applications, CAD, and other relevant engineering software and programs utilized in engineering operations is required.

Assistant County Engineer – Position Description

Eaton County Road Commission Seeks Temporary Seasonal Snowplow Position

The Eaton County Road Commission is seeking qualified applicants for TEMPORARY SEASONAL positions in Labor Group II – Heavy Truck Operators. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of experience operating tandem axle trucks, familiarity with the operation of road maintenance and construction equipment, and a commercial driver’s license with “A” endorsement. Prior snowplow experience is preferred. Assignments in these positions will be part-time intermittent beginning in December 2023 through March 2024. Duties will include snowstorm related plowing and salting of roads on any work shift. Paid training will be provided after hire. The starting salary for the position is $27.17/hour. Duties
Duties include but not necessarily limited to – sweeping, shoveling, lifting objects weighing upward to 80lbs, walking/standing long periods of time in all types of weather, cleaning, pruning of brush, grass mowing, patching asphalt, concrete, gravel and other roadway surfaces, using rakes, shovels, trimmers and other hand tools and placing/moving/pickup of signs, barricades, and traffic control work.

The Eaton County Road Commission is accepting applications/resumes for the position of Construction Services Technician. Candidates should have a 2-year degree in construction management, or a high school diploma or GED supplemented by additional vocational training in computer-aided drafting and three years of experience in construction work. Prior work on federal aid construction projects is preferred. Applicant must have the ability to deal with the public courteously and effectively; work cooperatively with and supervise other employees. The hourly wage range for this position is $24.85 to $32.30 depending on qualifications, together with a competitive benefit package. Construction Technician Job Description

ECRC Seeks Mechanics

The Eaton County Road Commission is accepting applications/resumes for positions in Labor Group IV – Mechanics. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, at least two years of experience as a heavy truck and construction equipment mechanic, a Commercial Driver’s License as required by state law with an “X” endorsement and must possess their own personal hand tools. Experience in engine electronics on modern equipment desirable. Starting wage for the position is $28.03/hour with a 1.5% increase in the hourly rate of pay for each area State Certification and license among the following: Engine Repair-Gasoline, Engine Repair Diesel, Drive Train Repair, Brake and Brake System Repair, Suspension and Steering Repair and Electrical System Repair for a potential of $30.55/hr.
